Beneath the red door.

First Flake

The first small white flake

Just past the bare yellow birch
A deep white snow drift.

Border

The border between
Light and dark is a sharp chalk
Line neatly snapped.

Clouds

Clouds like venetian
Blinds slice the sky in ragged
Stripes of blue and white.

At the edge of a clearing
Charged the gold grass.

A bare broken branch
Pirouettes in the crisp cold
Air, whirls on the wind.
