Winter Rain

Winter rain
Washes away snow to reveal
Black earth.

Blowing

Snow blows
In low whispers across the pond
Just above the ice.

March 3, 2011

Sunlight

Sunlight
Bright white wind burnished snow
Blinds my eyes.

March 1, 2011

Salt

Ice on the walk
Salt strewn like seeds on barren ground
Crunch underfoot.

Sunday

Freshly fallen
Snow hides drifts becoming
Parking lot ponds.

Winter Robes

Gray light -
Snow on the way, slush everywhere
So little sunlight.

February 24, 2011

Sleepless

In the dark
Under a blanket eyes shut
Mind racing.
